Who We Are

all_bishops_rev.png

The Holy Spirit is the Leader of the Body of Christ – the Church. In the Church the Holy Spirit has placed different gifts and offices. The offices of bishop (episkopos), priest (presbyteros) and deacon (diakonos) are ordained offices.

Different gifts of the Holy Spirit are placed within each member of the Church for the building up of the body in love and truth. Together, the offices and the gifts form a living body with the Holy Spirit as the Leader.

As the symbol of the unity of the members, the bishop gives voice to the people in the church and in the public arena. The bishops in the EOC meet in person in synod every other year for the purpose of unity, governance and discernment.

More information about the bishops in the EOC is found below.
