Christ Resurrection Church is a loving, hospitable church
community with a heart for enthusiastic worship and praise.
Our ministries include:
• Study Nights, a weekly potluck fellowship
supper followed by Bible study
• Kid's Class , a weekly neighborhood outreach
ministry to elementary school-age kids
• Seekers , a catechetical ministry for junior
high and high school youth
• The Quarry Coffeehouse, beginning this
fall, a coffeehouse ministry for high school and college-age
young adults.
We are also supportive of local and area ministries including
The Alpha Center, Siouxland Habitat for Humanity, Fellowship
of Christian Athletes and God's Giggle Gang Clown Ministry.
Christ Resurrection Church has its early beginnings in the
Jesus Movement of the early 1970s when several groups of college-age
Christians from Sioux City, IA began gathering in small, home-based
fellowship groups for “teaching, the breaking of bread, fellowship
and prayer” (Acts 2:42). These small groups came to be known
as Fellowship In Christ.
In 1978, some of its members joined a nationwide coalition
of churches that would eventually become the Evangelical Orthodox
Church. The new local church took the name, Christ Resurrection
Church and in 1981 purchased a building on the west side of
Sioux City where it continues to meet.
We welcome all visitors to join us for worship or to take
part in any of our ministries.
