serves the Evangelical Orthodox Church as its Presiding Bishop. Bishop Gliege is a graduate of Miller Memorial Bible Institute and began ministering as an Evangelical Mennonite Brethren pastor in 1971. He was consecrated to the episcopacy of the Evangelical Orthodox Church in 1976 and has served Holy Covenant Church in Saskatoon, SK, Canada since his ordination. WHO WE ARE
A MESSAGE FROM THE BISHOPS OF THE
EVANGELICAL ORTHODOX COMMUNION OF CHURCHES

We are glad you have shown an interest in the Communion of the Evangelical Orthodox Churches. We invite you to further explore who we are and how God has manifested His grace in our church communion.

We are a sincere and vital body of believers who have been touched by the love and grace of God. The gifts of who we are and what we have and offer are gratefully acknowledged as coming from and belonging to the Blessed Trinity.

In our journey of nearly three decades we have come to a deep appreciation of the catholic/orthodox faith found in the Scriptures, the doctrine, tradition and history of the early Church. We have committed ourselves to this ancient and historic faith while embracing our evangelical roots. We therefore hold an evangelical fire in the ancient forms. We believe we have been called to see humankind reconciled to God through Jesus Christ. And in addition to the building of healthy local churches we have a deep sense of call to pray and work for reconciliation between the many churches that exist today.

Our jurisdiction consists of six parishes, one monastery and one mission parish spread throughout the United States, Canada and Sweden. Three bishops, eleven priests and four deacons serve among the two hundred and seventy five faithful. More details on specific ministries can be found on this site.

Though we are small in number our faith is vital, alive and authentic. Each week we gather as the very body of Christ, the Church, to be nourished and fed at the table of our Lord Jesus Christ –the Eucharist. Our parishes are active during the week providing ministry and love to our members and to those around us.

We welcome your interest and inquiry and our presiding bishop will appropriately answer or redirect any correspondence.

On behalf of all our faithful;

Bp. Thomas Andersson
Bp. William Blythe
Bp. Jerold Gliege, Presiding Bishop
